What is Executive Order 203?

On June 12, 2020, in the wake of the murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and many other Black and African American unarmed civilians by the police, Governor Andrew Cuomo issued Executive Order 203, which requires all police departments in the State of NY to conduct a comprehensive review of all strategies, practices, and procedures, and develop an improvement plan, “for the purposes of addressing the particular needs of the communities served by such police agency and promote community engagement to foster trust, fairness, and legitimacy, and to address any racial bias and disproportionate policing of communities of color.” Review the full document here.

What is Protest-Docu-Rap?

“A Walk to the People’s Plan” is performed in the form
of a Protest-Docu-Rap, and tells the story of how
the People’s Plan came to be written,
and the story of police reform on Long Island.

We remind you that the murder of George Floyd was
8 minutes and 46 seconds. We ask that you take
the time to view the entire video,
like many witnessed George Floyd’s death.
